More than just a footy song, here's a melodic ditty reflecting how excitable youth takes a kick or two as it succumbs to the ageing process.

There is also a subtext; songwriter Darren Poyzer returned from The Falklands Conflict as an 18 year old war veteran, isolated from the community he returned to, until he found an opportunity to play for the local Sunday league team.

Over the years, this has been a favourite among live audiences in the UK.

Those who might want to have a go at playing it, I use capo 2nd fret and the chord progression begins with a simple G-C progression, then a walk-up from Am to C, and a quick D back to G-C.
